National and International Testing
A national or an international assessment provides a common measure of students’ achievement for all the participating provinces or countries. Results of these assessments help to confirm our provincial curriculum standards, which are reflected in the provincial achievement tests and diploma examinations. This section includes Alberta’s results on the School Achievement Indicators Program (SAIP) assessments, which are sponsored by the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC). Also included are the results of the Trends in Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) and the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA).
High School Equivalency Diploma Information Bulletin (GED)

Alberta Education provides an opportunity for such persons to earn a High School Equivalency Diploma in one of two ways: by accumulating the necessary credits or by writing the GED Tests.
