CTS: Energy and Mines
The Energy and Mines strand provides a comprehensive view of energy and mineral development in Alberta and Canada, encompassing resource exploration, recovery,
production, marketing and management. Students develop knowledge and skills relevant to specific energy and mineral industries, and they examine technologies that support sustainable development and efficient use of
natural resources.
Energy and Mines is just one of 22 strands* in Career and Technology Studies (CTS). For more information on the full group of CTS strands, visit the CTS Curriculum Structure.
*Each CTS "strand" is comprised of a group of 1-credit courses designed to support positive career opportunities for students.
