Centennial Wrap-up
Alberta's Centennial is almost over but for students and teachers all around the province, the memories of their special celebration events and projects will stay with them for many years to come.
Alberta Education's Centennial program engaged teachers, students and communities in a number of ways from providing special Centennial-related resources to If Walls Could Speak and Song Writing Intensive projects to the distribution of Centennial medallions and medals.
Song Writing Intensive was one of the signature Alberta Education Centennial projects. On November 28 and 29 the last of eight workshops took place at Daysland School. All eight workshops produced terrific songs that we hope will remain in the schools' repertoires for years to come. To sample a couple of the songs, go to special Projects and select Song Writing Intensive.
As we end this special year, our thanks to all students and teachers who participated in Alberta Education centennial projects and programs, and to our various partners and grant recipients who have provided a wealth of resources to be used by students now and far into the future. |
